Abstract

This study describes globlalization of pop culture in Slumdog Millionaire movie based on sociological approach. After analyzing this movie, Based on the background of the study the writer wants to understand how globalization of pop culture is reflected in Danny Boyle’s in Slumdog Millionaire Movie? The study belongs to the qualitative study. In the method, there are two types of data sources which are used by the writer, namely primary data source secondary data source. The primary data source and the object is the movie of Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire itself, meanwhile secondary one is other data related to the study. The writer collects the data from both, primary and secondary data sources in a sort of document as evidence. The study uses library research to collect the data, the collected data are analyzed by means of descriptive analysis. Having analyzed this movie, the writer draws some conclusions. First, Slumdog Millionaire suggests that communication technology help spread pop culture to the global world. Second it is evident that this movie has a class relation to the social realities of the Indian society. This movie, to a great deal extent, reflects the diversity of the Indian community groups, as well as the underlying theory aspects of the society including social, political, economic, cultural, and religion aspects.
