Abstract

Social interaction for adolescents is very important in the process of adjustment of adolescents, so they can develop into individuals with healthy personalities. The purpose of this study is to find out how social interactions are viewed from the intensity of playing online games and student sleep patterns. This research is a type of quantitative research. The population in this study are early semester students who have addictions to online games with irregular sleep patterns. While the sample used in this study were 40 early semester students who were addicted to online games with irregular sleep patterns. The sampling technique in this study will be carried out using the incedental sampling technique. The method of collecting data in this study using a questionnaire questionnaire. While the method of data analysis in this study using the Pearson Correlation analysis test. The results of this study indicate that 1) There is a relationship between the intensity of Playing Online Games and Sleep Patterns with Social Interaction of Students, This is evidenced by the significance value (p) = 0,000 (p <0.05). 2) There is a relationship between the intensity of playing online games with social interaction of students, this is evidenced by the significance value (p) = 0,000 (p <0.05). 3) There is a relationship between Sleep Patterns and Student Social Interaction. This is evidenced by the significance value (p) = 0,000 (p <0.05). 4) Based on the analysis it is known that social interaction has a high categorization with an empirical average (RE) = 86.78 greater than the hypothetical mean (RH) = 86.75. Then the intensity of playing online games has a high categorization with an empirical average obtained (RE) = 42.28. While the magnitude of the average hypothetical (RH) manually obtained was 42.27. Furthermore, the sleep pattern variable has a good categorization with an empirical mean obtained of (RE) = 57.10. while the average hypothetical (RH) manually obtained was 57.51. 5) Based on the results of the analysis it is known that there is a strong relationship between the intensity of playing online games and sleep patterns with social interactions, this is evidenced by the magnitude of Pearson Correlation value of 0.620 which indicates that there is a strong relationship between the intensity of playing online games and sleep patterns with social interactions
