Abstract

This study was designed to measure the performance of current account balances in ASEAN-5 countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina, Singapura, dan Thailand) and determinants during the period of 2004-2018. This research is quantitative descriptive interpretive. Regression analysis of panel data was implemented in this study. The results showed that countries with a current account balance that always had a surplus were Malaysia and Singapore. Based on the estimation results using the panel data explain that foreign direct investment (FDI) and real effective exchange rate had positive impact to current account balance in ASEAN-5 countries. While domestic consumption expenditure has negative impact to current account balance in ASEAN-5 countries
