Abstract

pests, vectors and disturbing animals related to living things in the form of microbes, animals and plants that can cause damage to humans and act as infectious diseases, vectors are endemic and epidemic and cause health hazards to death which must be taken control. Pests, vectors and pest control measures in traditional markets may be influenced by insufficient or inadequate knowledge and attitudes. The purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge and attitudes of traders towards pest control measures, vectors and annoying stars in the traditional markets of the city of Surakarta. This research method was conducted in quantitative research with cross-centional methods based on questionnaires and interviews, then analyzed and evaluated with data analysis techniques so that the knowledge and attitudes of traders to the vector pest and animal pest control measures in the traditional market in the city of Surakarta. The population of the study was 392 traders. Sampling with simple random sampling as many as 194. Statistical tests using Chi Square. The results showed that from the statistical test there was no significant relationship between knowledge variables with pest, vector and animal pest control measures (p-value = 0.656). While the attitude variable (p-value = 0,000). so that it is stated that there is a relationship between attitude and pest, vector and pest control measures. So there needs to be encouragement or motivation for traders to be able to take the attitude and actions to control pests, vectors and nuisance animals.
