Abstract

The growth of Indonesian residents over the past year has increased. The increase in population also resulted in an increase in land that is used as a residential location. Increasing locations of settlers often do not see the characteristics of existing land characteristics, so problems arise that will occur. The choice of suitable location refers to the characteristics of the land and its natural resources. Existing land resources can be seen from the suitability of the specific land for the location of the settlement. So the need to examine the suitability of land for residential locations. The purpose of the study was to analyze the distribution of land suitability classes in Jatiyoso District and to analyze the land suitability limiting factors for settlement locations in Jatiyoso District. The method used in this study using the survey method, for sampling with stratified sampling, and data collection by observation method, and the analytical method uses the weighting of the scoring value of each meter. The results of the research show that land suitability classes in Jatiyoso sub-district have 2 class II suitability classes (according to land conditions, suitable for settlements with few inhibiting factors) and class III suitability, which are all spread out in every village in Jatiyoso District. The most dominant limiting factor is the depth of the soil, soil drainage, landslide danger, erosion, rock strength and rock weathering
