Abstract

Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world after China, India and the United States. The total population of Indonesia in 2018 is 265 million (BPS, 2018). The objectives of the research are: (1) Describe the social and economic characteristics of street vendors in the Manahan Stadium area, (2) Analyze the mobility of street vendors in the area of Manahan Stadium, (3) Analyze the driving factors for respondents from the area of origin to carry out mobility. This study uses a survey method, by using the survey method, researchers obtain information directly from respondents using a tool that is a questionnaire. This sampling method uses the Quota Sample method. The quota sample technique is a sampling technique by determining sample criteria in advance and setting a certain amount as a target that must be met in the sampling of the population. Data obtained from respondents through direct interviews with respondents based on questions compiled in the research objectives include: (1) Demographic data (2) Factors affecting mobility (3) Regional of origin (4) Mobility of street vendors. Data management can be done with certain processes. This study uses a process that includes: The process of editing data and making tables for each variable in order to find out how much data was collected from respondents. Based on the results of street vendor interviews found that the social characteristics of street vendors in the Manahan Stadium Area are dominated by men with high school education with an average age of 30 years. Mobility of street vendors is dominated by out-of-town mobility within the province, with the most transportation support being motorbikes. The most influential pull factor in the occurrence of mobility is economic factors with a percentage of 18.64%.
