Abstract

Community consumption is financed from the size of the income received. So if domestic income is insufficient, consumption will be financed using foreign funds in the form of government debt. Keynesian theory states that expansionary fiscal policy will have a positive influence on national economic conditions, which also have an impact on increasing aggregate consumption. On the other hand Ricardian Equivalence Hypothesis (REH) states that fiscal policy will not have a significant effect on the economy because of the rational behavior of consumers. The study aims to analyze the effect of Fiscal Policy on Community Consumption in the Ricardian Equivalence Hypothesis paradigm in Indonesia by using Fiscal Policy variables through the State Expenditure instrument, Budget Deficits and using Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as a factor affecting consumption. The data used in the study are secondary data obtained from the Ministry of Finance and the Central Statistics Agency. The analytical method used is Ordinary Least Square (OLS), Classical Assumption Test, Partial Significance Test and Model Goodness Test. The results of this study indicate that all independent variables are significant for Community Consumption.
