Abstract

Hasani Febrian Fitrianto/A610140028, ANIMATION VIDEO DEVELOPMENT IN ADOBE AFTER EFFECT ON A LANDSLIDES LESSON IN SMP NEGERI 1 NOGOSARI, NOGOSARI DISTRICT, BOYOLALI REGENCY. Thesis. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, January, 2019. The background of this research is the researcher want to increase the student knowledge about landslides, considering that Boyolali District is an area with vulnerable to landslides. The purpose of this research were (1) Developing video animation based on Adobe After Effect that led to landslides in SMP Negeri 1 Nogosari Boyolali, (2) knowing the difference results of students before using video and after using video. This research was Research and Development (R n D), with using the model of Borg and Gall. The subject of this study was students of 7th grade and Social Science teacher of the 7th grade in SMP Negeri 1 Nogosari Boyolali. The result of the research were, 1) Developing video animation used Borg and Gall in the following process: research and data collection, product planning and design, initial product development, trials perfecting of the original product, trials and improvement of the perfected product, testing of the final product. Video animation had been through a validation phase by media experts and material experts with an average 4.5 in the category "good". (2) The studies showed that there was a difference between what a student learns from the control class and an experiment class in a landslide disaster with the following results : The experimental classes were treated in a variation in the pretest scoring 3.3 and postest scoring 7.9 which indicates significant 000 < 0.05. That means HI was accepted because there was a significant difference after using video media, while the control class with no video media treatment with the test scores 4.8 and postest scored 6.8. It can be concluded that the use of video animation was more effective with than conventional method
