Abstract

The application of GCG is considered to be able to improve the image of banks that had a bad time, protect the interests of stakeholders and increase compliance with applicable laws and regulations and general ethics in order to portray a healthy banking system. In addition, the application of GCG is expected to affect the profitability of the company, because the application of GCG can improve financial performance, reduce risk due to management actions that tend to benefit themselves. The purpose of this study was to determine the significant effect of GCG implementation, activities and leverage on company profitability. The research method used is an associative method with quantitative methods. The type of data used is secondary data which includes company annual reports, and data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination, t hypothesis test and F test. Based on the results of the coefficient of determination determination value of R2 GCG, activity and leverage affect the company's profitability as measured by ROA of 30.5% and the remaining 69.5% is influenced by other factors. From the results of hypothesis testing that the value of sig (0,052)< (0,1) means, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted and sig (0,008)< (0,01) means, H0 is rejected and H2 is accepted and sig (0,004)> (0,01) means, H0 is rejected and H3 is accepted. Thus there is a significant influence between the application of GCG principles, activities and leverage on the profitability of the company in the utility and transportation infrastructure sector listed on the Indonesia stock exchange year 2016-2018.
