Abstract

Background: Rheumatoid Arthtritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease which attack the immune system of the joints, leading to inflammation, erosion (erosion), and deformity. Rheumatoid Arthtritis is a disease number 42 that causes disability. So far the exact cause of Rheumatoid Arthtritis is unknown. Risk factors for Rheumatoid Arthtritis are cartilage damage, small joints between bones, pain, mobility and bone deformities. One non-pharmacological therapy for Rheumatoid Arthtritis is rheumatic gymnastic which focuses on joint motion. Purpose : To known the effect of rheumatic exercise in reducing the intensity of pain in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Method: This type of experimental research with quasy-experimental design with non-equivalent control group design approach. The sample of this study was 30 respondents. sampling technique with purposive sampling. data collection methods using the Numerical Rating scale (NRS) observation sheet. The method of data analysis uses the Wilcoxon test to know the influence of gymnastic rheumatic on patient with Rheumatoid Arthtritis and Mann-whitney test to know the differencies between the control group and intervention group. Results: Based on the results of the study found that the majority of respondents were female as many as 26 (86.67%), the majority of respondents worked as other as many as 16 (53.33%), the majority of respondents aged> 60 years were 14 (46.67%), the majority of respondents were educated Elementary school as many as 11 (36.67%). The pain intensity of respondents experienced a decrease in pain, before being given an intervention the average had a moderate pain level of 11 (73.3%) and after being given an average intervention decreased to a mild pain level of 14 (93.3%). Based on the results of testing with Wilcoxon, the results showed that there were the effect of rheumatic exercise on pain reduction with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05, based on the results of the mann-whitney test, it was found that there were differences between the control group and the treatment group for pain reduction in patients with rheumathoid arthritis. Conclusion: There is an effect of rheumatic arthritis in reducing rheumathoid arthritis pain. There is a difference in the effect of groups that are given rheumatic gymnastic and groups who are not given rheumatic gymnastic on the reduction in pain of rheumathoid arthritis sufferers.
