Abstract

FDI is a long-term investment made by foreign investors or companies in a line of business of the host country. This study aims to determine the causality of FDI on economic growth, imports and the current account in Indonesia 1989-2018. The analytical method used in this study is the Granger Causality Test. The data used are time series data and secondary data obtained from the Indonesian Statistics Agency (BPS) and Worldbank websites. The results of this study indicate that there is no causality between FDI and economic growth, there is a two-way causality between FDI and imports and there is a one-way causality between FDI and the current account.
