Abstract

Allah SWT has ordered his people to seek knowledge, which starts with reading the Qur'an and is contained in QS Al-Alaq 1-5. Unlike today, people are starting to forget about reading the Qur'an and studying it. So that many people in Indonesia, especially adolescents, cannot read the Qur'an in accordance with the principles of recitation and even cannot read the Qur'an at all. The selection of an inappropriate method is one of the failure factors in reading the Qur'an. For this reason, efforts are needed to overcome these problems. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the effectiveness of the Tsaqifa method in improving the ability to read the Qur'an. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Tsaqifa method in improving Al-Qur'an reading skills at TPQ Al-Ukhuwah, Lumbungkerep Hamlet, Lumbungkerep Village, Wonosari District, Klaten Regency. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted at TPQ Al-Ukhuwah, Lumbungkerep Hamlet, Lumbungkerep Village, Wonosari District, Klaten Regency. As for the subjects of research that carry out the action are the educators (Ustadz and Ustadzah). While the research subjects who received the action were students aged over 10 years at TPQ Al-Ukhuwah. Data collection techniques are tests, observations, interviews and documentation. Data analysis technique used in this research is interactive data analysis which consists of 4 steps, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, and from this series of activities is called one cycle. Based on data analysis during cycle 1 and cycle 2, it can be concluded that the Tsaqifa Method is effective in increasing the ability to read the Qur'an because this method is easier to understand than the previous method. This can be seen in the scores of students' exam results. In cycle 1, the average reading value of the Qur'an is 61 to 69. and in cycle 2, the average reading value of the Qur'an is 69 to 75. Whereas the level of completeness in cycle 1 is from 65% to 69%, and in cycle 2 the level of completeness is from 69% to 76%. Keywords: Effectiveness, Tsaqifa Method, Reading Al-Qur'an.
