Abstract

Basic Assembling subjects is one of the compulsory materials taught in class X Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) SMK Batik 1 Surakarta. However, the process of learning activities of Computer Assembly materials uses instructional methods and is only limited to seeing 2D drawings. So it is less interactive and the objects displayed are less visible. For this reason, it is necessary to create interactive and visible learning media using Virtual Reality (VR) technology. The purpose of this research is to develop a learning media based (VR) to create learning activities on Computer Assembly material that are interactive and visible. The development method uses Research and Development (R&D), with the development model of the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC). The trial was conducted on 18 students of class X SMK Batik 1 Surakarta divided into 4 stages, namely the first stage after being given an explanation of the student computer assembly material filling the pretest, the second stage using Virtual Reality media, the third stage filling the posttest, and the fourth stage students filling the questionnaire questionnaire that uses the System Usability Scale (SUS) method. In addition to getting responses from participants, Virtual Reality-based media also received ratings from media experts and material experts. The assessment of media experts obtained an average rating of 92.5% and the assessment of material experts obtained an average rating of 85%. So it can be concluded the results in this study deserve to be used as learning media on computer assembly material. The existence of Virtual Reality-based learning media is can be a reference for the creation of more innovative learning media.
