Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that effect the conversion of paddy to non paddy land in Central Java province 2013-2018. The data used is the area of paddy fields according to regencies/cities in Central Java province, population, non-agricultural sector GDRB, rice production, and number of hotels. The analysis model used is panel data regression, which is a merging between time series and cross section data. Time series data of 2013-2018 while the cross section is 35 regencies/cities in Sentral Java province. Data obtained from BPS. The results show that the number of residents and the number of hotels does not show a significant effect on the conversion of paddy fields in Central Java 2013-2018. The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDRP) of the non-agricultural sector and rice production significantly effected the conversion off paddy fields.
