Abstract

This final project aims to determine the design and process of making handpress permanent molds of button pack using solidworks software and to conduct CE Meter testing, chemical composition testing, calculating of shrinkage on handpress button pack permanent molds. This final project is done by using mahogany material for pattern making and gray cast iron for making permanent molds of handpress buttons wrapped using sand molds. The results of data analysis show that the process of designing using Solidworks software makes it easy to work on 2D and 3D images. For Carbon Equivalent Value of 4,29%, it is called hypoeutectic and for chemical composition, the dominant elements are (C) 3,47%, (Si) 2,41%, ( Mn) 0,43% and (Cu) 0,26%.
