Abstract

Engine breakdown is a condition where the engine cannot be started or cannot be operated. Action to overcome the problem by overhouling consists of checking diesel engine components, disassembly and assembly. Then a further check is performed with the aim of knowing the damage to engine components and knowing the main cause of the engine breakdown of the 4D95L-1 model, and knowing the repair steps. The inspection procedure is done by checking visually. Next, dissambly and check Diesel Engine Components, to find out the damage and the main causes of diesel engine breakdown in the 4D95L-1 model. The results of the 4D95L-1 model breakdown diesel engine breakdown suffered a component consisting of a piston ring and a piston. The cause of damage to the engine breakdown of the 4D95L-1 model is because the piston ring has worn out and the piston has a scratch on the surface, so oil can get into the piston and piston rings. The step to repair engine breakdown damage is by replacing piston rings and pistons that are damaged and cannot be repaired, therefore the piston and piston rings are replaced with new ones.
