Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out: 1) to find out the work readiness of students of SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta with the existence of a program on the job training (OJT). 2) To find out the obstacles faced by schools in the work readiness of students with the existence of the program on the job training (OJT). 3) To find out the efforts made by the school in overcoming obstacles that exist in the work readiness of students of SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta With the program on the job training (OJT). This type of research is qualitative, with descriptive qualitative methods using ethnographic design. The results showed that: 1) found work readiness of students of SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta with the program on the job training (OJT), Namely in preparing students to enter the workforce having a positive role, students better understanding and understanding the real work world, students more appealing knowledge, increase students' personal confidence, and lead to positive mentality. 2) Constraints faced in the program on the job training (OJT), namely the obstacles between the school and DUDI when placing students, the lack of mental attitude of students and the courage of students in asking questions and interacting in work so that it makes it difficult for students themselves, the presence of students which is not included in the on the job training (OJT) Which causes DUDI as well as the teacher's guiding students to be confused in guiding students and there are students who are not really sincere in implementing on the job training (OJT). 3) Efforts in overcoming obstacles to the implementation of on the job training (OJT) Namely the School and the DUDI establish communication with each other so there is no error in the process of implementing on the job training (OJT), students must learn more in responding to problems and be more mature , there is collaboration with parents about the placement of programs on the job training (OJT).
