Abstract

ABSTRACT Principal management is the principal's effort in planning, organizing, mobilizing, monitoring for achieving the goals set in the school. To improve quality at the Muhammadiyah High School Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta the school principal conducts the planning, organizing, moving, and monitoring stages. In addition, the school principal also implements a Total Quality Management system in improving school quality. This study aims to describe the implementation of school principal management in improving the quality of schools in the Muhammadiyah High School Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta and to describe the quality management system in the Muhammadiyah High School Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta. This research is included in qualitative research with the type of field research (Field Research) in Muhammadiyah High School Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta and using a phenomenological approach, data collection techniques by conducting observations, interviews, and also documentation. The analysis used, by writing or building a theory as a basis for thinking and then do the description of the results of research data and concludes by drawing conclusions. Based on research conducted by researchers, the researchers can conclude that the principal's management in improving the quality of schools in the Muhammadiyah High School Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta can be said to be successful with evidence of various achievements both in academic and non-academic fields and the first graduate successfully ranked sixth in the Surakarta region.
