Abstract

Public service is very important today and the village office is the first unit in the government to provide direct services to the community and of course the performance of the village office employees is a highlight in their service to the community which is certainly not easy. Tipes village office is one of the village office that has succeeded in doing good public service and this research wants to see how the leadership role in motivating the village office so that they can work optimally and not disappoint the community. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method, the data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The sampling technique used is snowball sampling and then the validity of the data uses source triangulation with interactive model data as analysis. The results showed that the Headman in Tipes village office increased the motivation of his subordinates by using (1) Communication because good communication is the key to a good relationship, (2) Providing rewards which in turn increases competitiveness and work morale. (3) The leadership style of the Headman who both impressed and respected by his subordinates and made a role model for them to work. (4) Positive leadership that creates a good work ecosystem that is healthy, fair and comfortable for work that is bacome source of motivation.
