Abstract
Indonesia is one of the countries that is located in the Ring of Fire line. Various disasters have happened in Indonesia which lead to raise awareness in minimizing the uncertainities in a disaster. Disaster communication is not only needed during a disaster, but it is also needed in pre-disaster and post-disaster. This study aims to describe how Ponorogo BPBD minimizes uncertainity during the landslides that happened in Banaran Village, Ponorogo. One of the interesting objects in this research is when BPBD did post-disaster mitigation, the people of Banaran did not want to be relocated. BPBD Ponorogo said that the Banaran Village area was in ‘red zone’ area or an area that was very susceptible to be affected by disasters. The data of this research was collected with in-depth interviews based on Theory Chaos. The type of this research is qualitative and using case study approach.
