Abstract

Control valve is an upperstructure of excavator parts that serves to regulate the flow generated by a hydraulic pump that is used to move work equipment such as buckets, arms, booms, swing motors and travel motors on the excavator. The purpose of this study is to find out how the control valve in the excavator works. Based on its function, control valves are divided into three types, namely pressure control valves, flow control valves, and directional control valves. The operation of the control valve is adjusted according to the motion of the control lever. On the control lever there is a pilot valve that functions to open and close the oil flow from the hydraulic pump to the control valve. The way the control valve works when the control lever is moved by the pilot valve will open the oil flow in the control valve of the hydraulic pump then the oil is regulated by the pressure control valve, the amount of flow by the flow control valve, and the direction of flow by the directional control valve. Furthermore, oil directly goes to the attachment that will be driven.
