Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) The contribution of teacher work motivation to teacher performance in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta. (2) The contribution of the principal's leadership to the performance of teachers in Muhammadiyah 1 Senior High School Surakarta. (3) Contribution of teacher's work motivation and headmaster's leadership to teacher performance in Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta Senior High School. This type of research is quantitative using survey design. The population in this study were 55 Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta high school teachers. This study is a population study because the number of samples is less than 100, so that all populations are sampled, as many as 55 teachers in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta. The data collection techniques of this research are documentation and questionnaire. Data analysis uses multiple regression techniques including F-test, t-test, R2 test, Relative Donation (SR) and Effective Donation (SE). Based on the results of data analysis, the multiple linear regression equation shows Y = 26.494 + 0.461X_1 + 0.284X_2. The equation shows that the teacher's work motivation and school principal's leadership influence the teacher's performance. The conclusion that can be drawn is. (1) Contribution of teacher's work motivation to teacher's performance, evidenced by the value of tcount> ttable that is 3.431> 2.006 and the probability value of 0.001 <0.05. (2) The contribution of the principal's leadership to the teacher's performance is evidenced by the value of tcount> ttable that is 2.277> 2.006 and the probability value of 0.027 <0.05. (3) The contribution of teacher's work motivation and principal's leadership to the teacher's performance is evidenced by the value of Fcount > Ftable which is 11.291> 3.17 and the probability value of 0.00 <0.05. (4) The variable work motivation of teachers gives SR 62% and SE 18.8%. The school leadership variable gives SR 38% and SE 11.5%. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.303 or 30.3%, meaning that the teacher’s work motivation and school leadership variables are 30.3% while the remaining 69.7% is influenced by other variables.
