Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of gadgets in the classroom of school children, in Girilayu village, Matesih District, Karanganyar Regency. In this study aims to describe the way children look at the device, to describe the forms of child devices, and to describe the forms of anticipation of addiction to play gadget kids 2 school. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study are school children in the village of Girilayu who have used gadgets, and then parents of school children, besides that also important community leaders for children in school are teachers. The object of this research is the use of gadgets in school children, in the girilayu village, matesih sub-district, karanganyar district. Data collection used in this study is the technique of data collection through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity is done by triangulation of data sources and triangulation of techniques. Data analysis was performed by applying an interactive analysis model. The results of this study can be concluded that: 1) The perception of school children in the village of Girilayu about the need for gadgets today is that children who have perceptions about gadgets have many benefits in addition to being positive and negative. In addition, children also have perceptions about gadgets that are primary needs; 2) The forms of using gadgets in children in girilayu villages that are approved, school children already understand the functions and types of applications needed on gadgets, not all the functions and types they know. School children can also operate gadgets. 3) Forms of anticipation of addiction to play gadgets in school children in Girilayu Village carried out by school children is done by not bringing gadgets to school, and children also try to look for other activities. While the anticipation made by parents using the approval of the use of gadgets, confiscate, reprimand that children are deterrent. In addition, the anticipation made by teachers is to provide project-based learning that can be done at school or also use gadgets for learning media.
