Abstract

The agricultural sector still plays an important role in employment in Central Java. The problem faced in the agricultural sector is the trend of employment absorption in the agricultural sector in 2013-2017 has decreased. The purpose of this study was to analyze labor absorption in the regency/city agriculture sector in Central Java Province and the factors that influence it using the panel data regeneration model. The results of this study indicate that the GRDP variable has a significant effect on employment in Central Java, the minimum wage variable, the variable inflation and investment have no significant effect on employment. Suggestions that can be given based on this research are that local governments should intensify increasing the GRDP rate in all economic sectors, especially agriculture, it needs policies on minimum wages that will support purchasing power and affect the increasing investment coming into the region. Government policy in regulating the rate of inflation by determining inflation prices is also important so that later it can increase employment. Keywords: employment, agriculture sector, minimum wage GRDP, inflation, investment, panel data
