Abstract

This study aims to: 1) describe the characteristics of strengthening the character of discipline carried out by PPKn teachers on students in learning Pancasila and Citizenship Education; 2) describe the supporting and inhibiting factors in strengthening the character of discipline in students in learning Pancasila and Citizenship Education. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura. Data collection methods in this study used interviews, observation, and documentation. The indicators of discipline in this study are: 1) getting used to class on time; 2) getting in the habit of obeying the rules; 3) using clothes in accordance with the provisions; 4) carrying out class assignments for which he is responsible. Data analysis techniques in this study used the Interactive model method. The results showed that (1) Characteristics of strengthening the discipline character carried out by PPKn teachers on students in learning Pancasila and Citizenship Education at Kartasura 2 State Junior High School with the material "Position and Function of Pancasila for the Nation and Country of Indonesia" so that students can get used to the behavior according to the values the value of Pancasila in various lives to practice gratitude, sincerity, and discipline in daily life; (2) Supporting and inhibiting factors in strengthening the character of discipline in students in learning Pancasila and Citizenship Education in SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura are supporting factors namely the control of the principal, involvement between the school and parents, and student awareness, inhibiting factors dating from families students and lack of interest in learning and students also have a variety of problems in the family which ultimately makes the student undisciplined such as not obeying the school rules or discipline. Based on these results it can be concluded that the learning process of Pancasila and Citizenship Education is very influential on strengthening the character of discipline in students at SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura.
