Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe the role, constraints and solutions of BPD in the de-velopment of Ponggok Tourism Village, Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency. The government's effort to build a rural economy is carried out through the manage-ment of village assets that have been regulated in Permendagri Number 1 of 2016 concerning Management of Village Assets. The oversight and control functions in the management of these assets are carried out by the Village Government which is supervised directly by the local Village Consultative Body. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The subjects of this study were the chairperson and members of the BPD of Ponggok Village, Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency. The object of this study is the role of BPD in the development of the Ponggok Tourism Village. Data collection methods use observation, inter-views and documentation. The results showed that the role of BPD in Ponggok 2 Village in developing Tourism Villages was to participate in the planning of Ponggok Tourism Villages, carry out socialization and roadshows to explore the aspirations of the community, develop facilities and infrastructure according to the destinations for sale, and provide a Ponggok Tourism Village planning strategy. The constraints faced in implementing BPD's role in developing the Ponggok Tourism Village are budget, lack of space and limited human resources. The solu-tion given to overcome funding or budget and land constraints in developing Ponggok Tourism Village is the optimization of the tourist destination or vehicle that Ponggok Village has, while to overcome the limited number of human re-sources in Ponggok Village, with training and education, and picking up the ball to explore aspirations from the community.
