Abstract

The purpose of this study was to increase the activeness of science learning through the use of a make a match strategy for fourth grade students of SDN 01 Munggur, Mojogedang, Karanganyar in the Academic Year 2018/2019. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with Classroom Action Research. The research subjects were all grade IV students at SDN 1 Munggur, Mojogedang Karanganyar. In collecting data, the method used is the method of observation, documentation, and testing. Data analysis techniques using interactive inductive models, namely data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The results showed that learning with the make a match strategy could increase the activity of learning in science learning in fourth grade elementary school students, with data in the first cycle of the first meeting the number of children who scored <70 were 15 children (53.57%). In the first cycle of meeting II the number of children who scored <70 were 14 children (50%) while those who scored above 70 were 14 children (50%). In the second cycle of meeting I children who scored <70 were 8 children (28.57%) while children who scored 70 or above were 20 children (71.43%). In the second cycle of meeting II the children who scored <70 were 0 (0%) of the children who scored 70 or above as many as 28 children (100%). It shows that the application of the make a match strategy can increase the learning activities of the fourth grade students of SD N 01 Munggur. Student learning activeness towards subject matter has increased in the teaching and learning process of the second cycle after the teacher submits the subject matter with a make a match strategy.
