Abstract

The Periodic System of elements (SPU) is the basic material in chemistry, these chemical elements often make students lazy toward chemistry subject especially in memorizing the elements of the periodic system. The way to help students memorize easily is by utilizing technological development namely an Android-based learning application, so that the students able to use smartphones as a means of positive innovation in education to support an interaction system. Therefore, the author was inspired to develop an Android-based periodic system application based on learning media. The application is made using Construct 2 and Corel Draw x7 for creating asset. The method used by the author is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) which is used the Waterfall model. The result of the design this application is an Android-based periodic system application which is containing of games, material, chemical periodic system table along with information, practice questions (quiz), as a means of evaluation and information concerning the application. The black box testing shows that all the functions of the application are running well as the expectation, meanwhile, usability testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS) calculation gets a value of 75 which means the application is running well as the function and suitable to be used.
