Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of feed rate variations on manufacturing machined souvenirs CNC milling routers 3 axis in acrylic material, on the surface roughness produced in units (Ra) which results are good, and the effect of feed rate variations on the machining process time. This research uses acrilyc materials and uses CNC milling machines. 3 axis routers with mach3 control machining process are carried out with a feed rate variation, and surface roughness testing using a roughness testing device (Roughnes Tester Type TR200 with ISO standard). The results showed that the feed rate variation produced different levels of roughness in the machining results of CNC 3 axis router milling, the level of surface roughness in the CNC milling process of 3 axis routers with acrylic material will produce a roughness level between N8 and N9. From the test results it can be seen that the best average roughness (Ra) of the feed rate variation, obtained in the third specimen using an 477 mm / min feed speed with an average roughness value of 0.618 μm, and for the average roughness (Ra) the best total of the feed rate variations obtained the best average roughness value at the feed rate of 477 mm / min with an average roughness value of 0.687 μm. Based on the results of the average time measurement in the souvenir manufacturing process using the 3 axis CNC router milling machine using a different feed rate the fastest time is obtained at the feed rate of 594 mm / min with a time of 1489 seconds.
