Abstract

This study aims to describe the legal protection for consumers of herbal medicine which is divided into several provisions, namely legal protection of herbal packaging labels, licensing of herbal sales, and supervision of the distribution of herbal medicine. The study was conducted on several herbal medicine sellers in the city of Surakarta. This research uses the type of doctrinal research. Consumer protection is any effort that guarantees legal certainty to provide protection to consumers. Herbal medicine is a traditional medicine made from natural cultural heritage which has been passed down from generation to generation for health. This legal protection is very important for consumers to protect their rights in consuming herbal medicine, but the issue of legal protection for consumers of herbal medicine receives less attention from consumers and businesses, even though this consumer protection plays an important role. This study discusses the legal protection of consumers against herbal medicine. The results of this study discuss legal protection for herbal consumers.
