Abstract

ABSTRACT AYU TRIANA SARI. J 310 150 049 THE CORRELATION BETWEEN NUTRITIONAL KNOWLEDGE WITH DIETARY ADHERENCE IN OUTPATIENTS WITH CRHONIC KIDNEY DISEASE ON HEMODIALYSIS AT RSUD IR. SOEKARNO OF SUKOHARJO Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a disease caused by impaired kidney function (chronic), progressive, and usually cannot be cured. Hemodialysis is a kidney replacement therapy that uses a semi permeable membrane (dialiser) to remove metabolic waste products and regulate fluid and electrolyte balance disorders in patients with chronic kidney disease. One of the problems that can cause hemodialysis failure is patient’s adherence of diet recommendation. Nutritional knowledge is one of the factors in the formation of diet adherence behavior. Objective: This study aimed to determine the correlation between nutritional knowledge with dietary adherence in outpatients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis at RSUD Ir. Soekarno, Sukoharjo Regency. Research Method: This study was an observational research method with cross sectional approach. This research involved 50 respondents according to inclusions and exclusions criteria. Data collection was conducted by direct interview using questionnaires of nutritional knowledge and dietary adherence. Data were analyzed using Chi Square test to determine the correlation between nutritional knowledge with dietary adherence. Results: Results showed that 64% respondents have less nutritional knowledge with the average of nutritional knowledge score was 62,93 and the median score was 60,00. The percentage of respondents who adhere to dietary recommendation of chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis was 50% with the average of adherence score was 17,68 and the median score was 18,50. The test result of the correlation between nutritional knowledge with dietary adherence showed that p value = 0,601. Conclusion: There was no correlation between nutritional knowledge with dietary adherence in outpatient with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis at RSUD Ir. Soekarno, Sukoharjo Regency.
