Abstract
This study aims to describe the difficulties of children with special needs in learning mathematics in inclusive classes. This research is qualitative. This research was conducted on students with special needs class VIII SMP Negeri 23 Surakarta in the academic year 2018/2019. Data collected by the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis technique uses the flow method namely, data reduction, data presentation, evaluation / verification and drawing conclusions. The results showed that every child with special needs had difficulty in: (1) aspects of language; (2) aspects of the concept; (3) aspects of operations in learning mathematics in inclusive classrooms, the factors that cause children with special needs to experience difficulties are for children with special needs slow learners difficulties in understanding the material provided by the teacher, difficulty in calculating and applying in math problems, for children with hearing impairments have difficulty hearing while learning. The lack of special assistant teachers is an obstacle in the learning process. The teacher also does not give special treatment to children with special needs.
