Abstract

This study examines the purpose of the lecture delivered by the chaplain Ustadz Ahnad Sukino’s. This type of research is qualitative research, because it describes the purpose of Ustadz Ahmad Sukino's lecture at the Qur'anic Interpretation Assembly (MTA). The study used a matching method which was useful to explain the purpose of the lecture delivered by Ustadz Ahmad Sukina. The padan method is used to determine the meaning of a patterned Kotoba Wakamono. The equivalent method used in this study is the pragmatic equivalent method. Analysis of the data in this study is to describe the differences in the purpose of speech in the lecture delivered by Ustadz Ahmad Sukina. Based on the analysis of the data in this study, it can be concluded that: 1) Respondents respond to the discourse of tahlilan and yasinan with neutral statements, agree, and disagree. As for the discourse of the grave pilgrimage, alms for people die, and aqiqah is responded with a statement of agree and disagree. 2) The form of pragmatic dysfunction in the lecture is the difference in understanding between respondents who agree and disagree with Ustad Ahmad Sukino. According to respondents who disagreed, Ahmad Sukino's lecture did not take the opinion of the previous cleric, and the opinion of Ahmad Sukino's cleric was not the same as the respondent's opinion.
