Abstract

Glaucoma is a long-term optic nerve disease characterized by damage to the structure of the optic disc or retinal nerve fibers, abnormalities of the field of view and usually accompanied by increased intraocular pressure. This research is a descriptive analytic study with cross sectional study. The target population of this study were all patients diagnosed with hypertension and those who came to the eye clinic. The affordable population of this study was patients diagnosed with hypertension when they came to treatment at Sarila Husada General Hospital Sragen in July 2018. The results of the study showed that the respondents were the most female (60.52%) and most respondents were 51-60 years old (34.21%). In addition, respondents who experienced an increase in intraocular pressure and had a history of hypertension amounted to 6 people (66.7%), while respondents who experienced increased intraocular pressure and did not have hypertension amounted to 3 people (3.33%). Then patients who experienced an increase in intraocular pressure and did not experience hypertension were 4 people (14.8%), while respondents who did not experience increased intraocular pressure and did not have a history of hypertension were 23 people (85.2%). In the hypothesis test using Fisher's exact test, p = 0.026 was obtained.
