Abstract

School age is a period of very rapid physical growth. Behavior consuming sweetened drinks can be influenced by the level of student knowledge.The problem of fat in children aged 5-12 years is still high at 18.8%, consisting of fat 10.8% and very fat (obese) 8.8%.The choice of consuming sugar-sweetened beveragescan be influenced by the level of student knowledge, which is can be affect the nutritional status. To determine the relationship between knowledge andconsumtion sugar-sweetened beverageswith nutritional status in students at Ta'mirul Islam Elementary School Surakarta. This research uses an observational research design and cross sectional approach. The sample is the fifth grade students at Ta'mirul Islam Elementary School Surakarta, with the sampling technique using simple random sampling. The research instrument used knowledge questionnaires,consumtion sugar-sweetened beveragesusing semi-quantitative Food Frequency Questioners (FFQ)for the past 1 monthand nutritionalstatus assessments using IMT / U. Data analysis using the Spearman Rank test. Most of the students' knowledge level is in good category with an average value of 14.86. Most students have the habit of consumtion sugar-sweetened beveragesin more categories. The average consumption of sugar-sweetened beveragesis 52,36gram per day. Most of the nutritional status of students is in the normal category. Spearman rank test results are known There is no relation of knowledge about sugar-sweetened beverageswith nutritional status with p= 0.348. There was no correlation between the habits of consumtion sugar-sweetened beverageswith nutritional status with p = 0.648. There is no relationship of knowledge about sugar-sweetened beverageswith nutritional status between school children who have more and normal nutritional status instudents at Ta'mirul Islam Surakarta. There is no relationship between the habit of consuming sugar-sweetened beverageswith nutritional status between school children who frequently and sufficiently consume sugar-sweetened beveragesinstudents at Ta'mirul Islam Surakarta.
