Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand the social maturity of adolescents with the status of an only child. The research method used is descriptive qualitative data collected through interviews. Data were obtained from four informants with predetermined criteria, namely an only child ,aged 17-25 years, male and female. The results of this study indicate that the subject has been able to take care of all his needs and actively participate in various social activities, where the subject has been able to show the attitude of working together and sharing together. In overcoming the problem and doing the given task, the subject has tried to solve it by himself without asking for help from others. Then the activity that requires courage is when the subject must adapt to all new situations. When interacting with others, the subject chooses a form of verbal communication or by speaking directly. There are also subjects who prefer to interact via mobile.
