Abstract
Education is a very important and useful aspect of human life, many new breakthroughs have been made in the world of education in order to improve the quality of education. The use of instructional media is an innovation to improve the quality of education that can be done by improving student learning outcomes through the use of technology. The use of Powtoon media and Globe media is one way to improve student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of using media (Powtoon) and Globe media in improving social studies learning outcomes. This type of research is quantitative with experimental research designs. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the average pretest of the experimental class was 43.36 and posttest 79.06. And the average results of the control class at the pretest was 52.5 and posttest 61.46. While based on the results of testing the hypothesis obtained by the value of sig. <0.05 (0,000 <0.05) so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus it can be concluded that the use of Powtoon media and Globe media influences the improvement of 5th grade social studies learning outcomes of students.
