Abstract

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative disease with joint cartilage damage, in the elderly or middle-aged. Research Objectives: This study aims to determine the description of pain response in osteoarthritis sufferers in the community. Benefits: Can add insight and knowledge to osteoarthritis so it is easy to provide the right intervention. Research Methods: This study uses a simple type of descriptive quantitative research to obtain an overview of the pain response in osteoarthritis sufferers in the community. The study sample was osteoarthritis sufferers who were in the Surakarta Pajang Area and selected based on sample criteria. Results: As many as 49% of respondents felt persistent pain, 28% of respondents felt pain and felt anxious every time, 80.8% of respondents prayed for relief from pain, 82.8% of respondents were sincere and patient with their pain, 49, 9% of respondents went to the doctor / health center to deal with pain, 43% of respondents felt pain in the joints, 56 respondents felt moderate pain, 58% of respondents felt throbbing pain, 76.6% of respondents were very careful of the joints / areas that feels pain to reduce pain, 76.7% of respondents limit themselves due to pain, 65.8% of respondents take medication regularly to reduce pain, 61.6% of respondents are shocked and shocked when pain appears, 60.3% of respondents move their bodies when pain appears.
