Abstract

Excavators are heavy equipment used in industry, minning, construction, foresty and agriculture. Swing on an excavator is a component that is useful for moving upperstructure units as much as 360°. This analysis aims to determine what factors cause demage to the swing motot in the Keihatsu 921C unit and to find out how to overcome the demage to the swing motor in the Keihatsu 921C unit. Swing motor is the main driver of the upper structure excavator that used liquid fluid to be converted into mechanical energy, the movement produced by swing motors can rotate the upper structure as much as 360°. The function of the swing motor is to receive oil pressure from the pump that is outputs to drive the swing reduction gear. For swing reduction gear itself is a type of planetary gear.
