Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) To study the comparison of students' understanding of the material location and area of the Indonesian sub-material mapping in SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura. (2) Determine the effectiveness of the Particypatory Learning and Action learning model to increase disaster knowledge in the material location and area of the Indonesian sub-material mapping in SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura. This type of research in this study is quantitative using a model of participatory learning and action. The study design used a pretest posttest with 32 respondents. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura, Sukoharjo Regency with the purposive sampling. Technical analysis of the data used is the Discrimination Power and Paired Sample t Test. The results showed (1) That distinguishing power between pre-test and post-test questions had different presentations between the number of upper and lower groups for each class which had an increase of 75%, while 15% were fixed and 10% decreased . (2) T-test results show a significant value of .000, because a significant < 0.05 then the H0 data is rejected. So, there is a difference between post test and pre test. And Participatory Learning and Action has an effectiveness in the learning procec.
