Abstract
The research aims to describe the mistakes and the factors by students resolving mathematic story question of sequence and series in terms of SOLO taxonomy’s levels. Type in this research was descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this research were 28 students of eleven grades in SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta. The technique of data collecting used test, interview, and documentation. The data validity used triangulation of technique and sources. The data analysis tehnique in this research is done by processing of data reduction, data presentation, and verification / conclusion. The result of this reseach shows that the percentage of prestructural level is 31, 43%, unistructural level is 12,86%, multistructural level is 22,19%, relational level is 22,19%, extended abstract level is 14,26%. Based on the result the most student errors were made at prestructural level. Cause of the factors student error are students didn’t understand the material of squence and series, students didn’t understand the information in the question, and students couldn’t answer the question.
