Abstract

Modification is a change or improvement from the standard. Motorcycle modification is done on the engine or body. Modifications to motorcycle engines aim to increase power, torque or minimize fuel consumption. Therefore this study aims to create a mechanical device used to increase torque and power. One of the mechanical devices used is a ring with a difference in inner diameter. This study aims to create exhaust modifications with variations in inner diameter. The design of the tool uses variations in diameters of 18, 20 and 22 millimeters. The data produced after the study was conducted showed that the standard vixion 150 motorbike produced a maximum torque of 13.44 Nm at 6115 rpm. the use of Magic Ring on the market produces maximum torque of 13.77 Nm at 6,105 rpm. While the maximum torque produced by the modification of the Exhaust Manifold Inner diameter with 18 millimeters variation can produce a maximum torque of 14.36 Nm at engine speed of 6,063 rpm. Then in the modification of the Exhaust Manifold Inner diameter with a variation of 20 millimeters gets 14,15 HP of power at 6,101 rpm. While the maximum power produced by the modification of the Exhaust Manifold Inner diameter with variations in the dimensions of the ratio of 20 millimeters capable of producing 14 HP at 8413 rpm engine speed. Then for modification of the Exhaust Manifold Inner diameter with 18 millimeters variation produces the lowest power which is 13.8 HP at 8221 rpm. has a difference of 0.2 HP or about 1.45% with a modified Exhaust Manifold Inner diameter with a variation of 20 millimeters which has the best power. The results showed that the effect of changes in the dimensions of the inner diameter on motorcycle output was not directly proportional to the reduction of the inner diameter of the vixion 150 motorcycle. The best data was obtained in the inner diameter with a variation of 20 millimeters. And the best torque is found in the inner diameter with a variation of 18 millimeters.
