Abstract
ABSTRACT The Human Development Index is a comparative measurement of life expectancy, literacy, education and living standards for all countries throughout the world. This study aims to determine the effect of the Gini Index, Economic Growth, Poverty and Regional Expenditure variables as independent variables on the district / city Human Development Index in the Province of Yogyakarta as the dependent variable. The data used in this study are panel data with six-year time series data from 2011-2016 and a cross section of five (5) namely 4 districts 1 city in the Special Province of Yogyakarta. The data analysis used in this study is panel data analysis with the fixed effect model. The results showed that the Poverty variable had a negative and significant effect on the HDI, Regional Expenditures had a positive and significant influence on the HDI, while the Economic Growth and Gini index had a positive and not significant effect on the HDI. Keywords: Human Development Index, Gini Index, Economic Growth, Poverty and Regional Expenditures.
