Abstract

This study aims at describing the items’ composition of Math final exam (Ulangan Akhir Semester—UAS) in the fourth grade of elementary school (SD/MI) in Surakarta in even semester of 2015/2016 based on the TIMSS taxonomy including the aspects in it. In addition, it also aims at analizing the suitability of the items’ proportion of UAS with the TIMSS 2015 assessment framework. This research is a descriptive study, particularly content analysis with qualitative method. Data analysis techniques employed were data reduction, data presentation, conclusion or verification. Data validation was verrified through source triangulation. The results of the study are viewed from the content domain; there are 176 questions (74.9%) containing numbers, 59 questions (25.1%) containing geometric shapes and measures, and 0% containing data display. The researcher finds that not all content domains are contained in the questions because of differences in content domain between the KTSP curriculum and TIMSS 2015. In percentage, the proportion of number content domain is in accordance with that of TIMSS, but the geometric shapes and measures contents are not appropriate and there are no data display on it.ons (12.3%) on applying, and 2.1% on reasoning. The researcher finds that not all content domains are contained in the questions because of differences in content domain between the KTSP curriculum and TIMSS 2015.
