Abstract

This study aims to describe children's education in the context of the mesosystem with the arrangement of a single father's family and teacher at school. This research uses descriptive qualitative-phenomenology method with the selection of informants using purposive sampling technique. The informants in this study consisted of children, single fathers, and teachers who each reversed 4 people. Data collection techniques use semi-structured interviews. The results showed that divorce or the death of a spouse in a single father’s family didn’t make children have a low performance and the absence of an education plan. This is based on the form of parenting in children's education and children's characteristics. The role of a single father in children's education at home more emphasis on cultivating the values of beliefs in children, while teachers in children's education at schools more emphasis on improving academics and developing potential interests in children's talents. The factors that influence children's education in the mesosystem context with the arrangement of single father’s family and teacher at school are related to the relationship established, both single father and child, child with teacher, and single father and teacher. When the interrelationship are more intense and stronger, this gives better results than less intense and less strong relationships.
