Abstract
Along with the rapid development of technology, trading activities that were originally carried out in the traditional way and face to face directly between sellers and buyers, now can be done by means of online media. In its development, the transaction of buying and selling through online media is now not only done by one or two people, even now an auction system has been developed using online media that allows more than two people to make buying and selling transactions. The main problem is how the practice of buying and selling online with auction system for students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta and how Islamic law reviews the practice of buying and selling online with an auction system for students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. This study aims to find out how the practice of buying and selling with the auction system on the Students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta and to find out how a review of Islamic law on the practice of buying and selling online with the auction system on Students of the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. This research uses descriptive qualitative research type. Data analysis method used is descriptive data analysis. From the results of the research conducted by the researcher, it can be concluded that in general the auction is the sale of goods made in public including through electronic media by means of verbal offers with increasing prices or declining prices and with written price quotations that are preceded with the effort to gather interested people. The practice of buying and selling online with an auction system conducted by students is in accordance with the terms and conditions of the auction sale (allowed). Buying and selling by auction does not include the practice of usury although it is called bai 'muzaayadah from the word ziyadah which has an additional meaning as the meaning of riba, but the additional meaning here is different. In a muzaayadah that increases is a price quote that is more in the sale and purchase agreement made by the seller or if the auction is conducted by the buyer then what is increased is a decrease in bid. Whereas in the practice of usury additional haram in question is an additional that was not agreed in advance in the loan agreement to borrow money or other ribawi goods.
