Abstract

The object used in this research is batik printing produced by PT. Dan Liris, Sukoharjo. There are two types of machines used, flat machines and rotary machines. The goal to be achieved based on research is to determine the root cause of the problem to further provide recommendations for improvement to reduce the defect with the highest percentage. In addition, the purpose of the research is to find out the value of DPMO and sigma value in the batik printing production process. This research uses the Six Sigma method to focus on process improvement as well as reducing product defects. Based on the calculations performed shows the ability of the process of batik printing production is at the level of 3.81 sigma. Improvement analysis focuses on the spots that are the highest defects in the amount of 43,045.97 meters or with a percentage of 36%. Problem identification is carried out with a CRT diagram to determine the core issues to determine proposed improvements. The proposed improvement is in the form of a color paste leveling tool for flat machines. As for the rotary machine in the form of a tool design to remove fabric residues and the design of the container capacity indicator.
