Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between work status and the performance of employees of PT. FIF. The hypothesis proposed is that there is a negative relationship between work stress and the performance of PT. FIF. The research sample was all employees at PT. FIF Kendal as many as 56 employees. Data collection was carried out using performance documentation and work stress scale, while the method in data analysis used non parametric kendall's correlation. The results of the analysis obtained a correlation coefficient (rxy) of (-0.447) with a significance level (p) ≤ 0.01. The results of manual statistical calculations obtained work stress results in the medium category with empirical mean (RE) = 79.13 smaller than the hypothetical average (RH) = 87.5 and performance in the medium category with empirical mean (RE) = 80.80. Based on the calculation, it is known that the coefficient of correlation r is -0.006 with significance (p) = 0.478 (p≥0.05), which means there is no relationship between work stress and performance.
