Abstract

Lack of learning media used by teachers, especially landform material, so learning media are needed to facilitate understanding landforms. This study aims to determine the landforms in Sragen Regency, to find out the development process, and the effectiveness of teaching media in the form of GIS-based 3D on landform material with research and development methods in SMA Negeri 1 Gemolong. This study uses a development model according to Borg and Gall. This research and development design uses two groups of pretest-posttest that compares the results of the initial and final tests with respondents who are social studies teachers of class X and students of class X social studies in SMA Negeri 1 Gemolong with 29 students. The sampling technique uses two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The data collection method uses a pretest and posttest questionnaire. Technical analysis of data using one sample paired T-test. Based on the results of research and discussion, it is found that Sragen Regency has four landforms, namely the landforms originating from the volcanic process, landforms originating from the fluvial process, landforms originating from the denudesional process, and landforms originating from structural processes. The process of developing instructional media in the form of 3D media presented in the form of video on landform material has been through product improvement by material experts and media experts with an average value of 4.55, so it can be categorized as “GOOD”. One sample paired T-test results in the control class and experimental class showed significant results. The average value of the increase in student learning outcomes of the control class and the experimental class were 43.15% and 52.9% respectively, meaning that the experimental class was 9.75% higher than the control class, so it can be concluded that the product was effectively used. The final product evaluation results by respondents amounted to 4.32 which can be categorized as “GOOD”. So it can be concluded that the landform 3D video teaching media is effectively used to improve student learning outcomes. Keywords: media development, 3-D video maps, landforms
