Abstract

This diffusion model of innovation is widely used in development communication. Especially in Indonesia. Desimination of information to rural communities can be carried out through various types of communication media. Diffusion is more focused on the occurrence of changes in behavior that appears (over behavior), namely accepting or rejecting new ideas (culture) rather than just knowledge and attitude. Diffusion is a special type of communication. In this context changes in behavior begin with a change in mindset, where contraceptive use is not only for women. In this study, researchers wanted to find out how the diffusion of family planning programs on family planning devices carried out by DPPKB & 3A in the Sidoarjo district of Wonogiri Regency was how the diffusion of family planning programs on family planning devices carried out by DPPKB & 3A in Sidoarjo sub-district, Wonogiri Regency. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods that aim to describe the condition or object of research through in-depth data collection. The data collection technique in this study used in-depth interviews and documentation while the sampling technique used purposive Sampling. Next the researcher used data triangulation to check its validity and to present data the researcher used interactive data analysis methods. The results of research with interpersonal communication, information about the innovation of family planning programs is easily understood by the community, besides that it can also quickly influence the community so that people can adopt innovative family planning programs quickly. Based on the innovation diffusion process of the family planning program in Sidoharjo, several stages are carried out that affect the speed or slow process of diffusion of innovation, namely the knowledge stage (Knowladge Stage), Invitational stage (Persuasion Stage), decision making stage (Application Stage) confirmation stage (Confirmation Stage).
